Sanjoy Kumar Roy is an Assistant Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Noakhali Science and Technology University. BIOGRAPHY
Sanjoy Kumar Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Noakhali Science and Technology University, where he has been serving since 2019. He earned both his BBA (2015) and MBA (2017) in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Dhaka. Since joining Noakhali Science and Technology University, Mr. Roy has built a strong research portfolio with publications in peer-reviewed journals and edited book volumes. His scholarly contributions span diverse areas, including the application of ICT in human resource management during the COVID-19 pandemic, corporate environmental reporting, YouTube as a promotional tool for tourism, service quality in ride-sharing services, and the dynamics of outbound tourism in Bangladesh. His work further explores the potential of island-based tourism and critically examines the opportunities and challenges posed by social media in tourism development. In addition to journal articles, he has contributed book chapters on the role of public agencies in tourism and hospitality investment, as well as the implications of social media platforms for the tourism sector. His academic impact is evidenced by 127 citations (till September 2025). Through his teaching, research, and professional engagement, Sanjoy Kumar Roy continues to contribute to advancing sustainable tourism practices, improving service quality, and promoting innovation in hospitality and tourism management.
