Shohel Mahmud
Shohel Mahmud is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. His research focuses on Biostatistics, Public Health, Data Science and Machine Learning applications, and he has published several articles in these fields. He previously worked at icddr,b and IEDCR, contributing to epidemiological and health research.

BIOGRAPHY
Shohel Mahmud is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. He completed his graduation and post-graduation in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University. Before joining NSTU, he worked at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research (IEDCR), where he contributed to public health and epidemiological research. His research interests include biostatistics, public health, machine learning applications, and statistical bioinformatics. He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals. At NSTU, he teaches courses in Design of Experiment, Biostatistics, Probability Distribution, Computer Programming, Econometrics, Statistical Bioinformatics, and Advanced Sampling Theory. In addition to his teaching and research, he is an active member of the NSTU Ranking Cell and has successfully completed multiple research projects funded by NSTURC, with new proposals under consideration. Beyond academia, Shohel Mahmud is passionate about mentoring students, promoting research culture, and applying statistical methods to solve real-world health and social issues.
