BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Jakiul Islam is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Noakhal-3814, Bangladesh since June 8, 2023. In addition to his academic duties, he is also serving as an Assistant Proctor of NSTU, since October 3, 2025. Prior to joining NSTU, he worked as a Lecturer of Physics at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research-NITER (a constituent institute of Dhaka University), from October 16, 2021 to June 7, 2023. Mr. Islam also served as an Adjunct Lecturer of Physics in various institutes such as Chandpur Science and Technology University (Chandpur), Noakhali Textile Engineering College (Noakhali), Aviation and Aerospace University (Lalmonirhat), for a certain period of time. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2020, securing a CGPA of 3.92 out of 4.00. During the Master's degree, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at BUET for one year, from April 2019 to March 2020. He earned his Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Physics from Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) in 2016 (awarded in 2018), securing 1st position. He is a Community Associate member of the prestigious Journal publisher, ‘American Chemical Society’. He also served as a member of the Scientific sub-committee at the 6th conference (2021) of Bangladesh Crystallographic Association. His research interests include exploring the physical properties of chiral noncentrosymmetric superconductors, Kagome superconductors, ThCr2Si2-type superconductors, MAX phases, and metal halide perovskites, using DFT-based First-principles calculations. He has published 13 more research articles in international peer-reviewed Journals. His research works have been published in prestigious Journals like Journal of the Physical Chemistry C, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, ACS Applied Electronic Materials, ACS Omega, RSC Advances, Scientific Reports, Journal of Alloys and Compounds etc. Mr. Islam is also performing his role as a reviewer for various international peer-reviewed Journals.
