BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Md. Mofizur Rahman is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. He earned his Ph.D. in Marine Biology from Pukyong National University, South Korea, where he conducted advanced research on the physiological and environmental factors influencing fish growth and reproduction. Prior to that, he completed both his Bachelor’s (Honours) and Master’s degrees in Fisheries from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, achieving outstanding academic distinction. With nearly 15 years of extensive research and teaching experience, Dr. Rahman has established himself as a prominent researcher in the field of aquatic biology and environmental sciences. He has published around 50 research articles in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to the understanding of aquatic organisms and their environmental interactions. Dr. Rahman’s research interests span a broad spectrum, including marine biology, reproductive endocrinology, fish and crustacean eco-physiology, aquatic toxicology, environmental pollution assessment, and sustainable aquaculture development. His studies often integrate molecular, physiological, and ecological approaches to explore how environmental stressors—such as heavy metals, microplastics, and other pollutants—affect the health, reproduction, and productivity of aquatic organisms. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Rahman has actively participated in numerous national and international workshops, seminars, and conferences, and has received several awards and recognitions for his academic and scientific excellence. He continues to play a vital role in advancing the frontiers of fisheries and marine science research in Bangladesh, with a strong commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and blue economy development.
