Associate Professor
Md. Shiblur Rahaman
Dr. Md. Shiblur Rahaman is a highly motivated research scientist and academician with significant expertise in a broad array of molecular biology, cell biology, environmental toxicology, environmental health, and various biological applications in in vitro and in vivo research. He has been working as a full-time permanent faculty member in the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh, since 2015. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Hokkaido University, Japan, in September 2020 and successfully completed a prestigious JSPS postdoctoral fellowship from Jichi Medical University, Japan (2021–2022). He is continuing his research collaboration with Jichi Medical University, Japan, as a visiting researcher. Dr. Rahaman was working as a 'Research Scientist for an NIH-funded R01 project at the Department of Public Health, Sam Houston State University, USA from May 2024 to April 2025. Now, he is continuing his research collaboration as a 'visiting scholar' at the Department of Public Health, Sam Houston State University, USA. Dr. Md. Shiblur Rahaman is interested in the fields of environmental health, environmental toxicology, environmental pollution, and human health.

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Md. Shiblur Rahaman has been working as a full-time permanent faculty member in the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh, since 2015. Recently, he completed a very prestigious research scientist role funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at the Department of Public Health, Sam Houston State University, USA. He completed his PhD studies in Environmental Science at Hokkaido University, Japan, in 2020, and completed a prestigious JSPS postdoctoral fellowship from Jichi Medical University, Japan (2021–2022). He currently holds a visiting researcher position at Jichi Medical University, Japan, and is a visiting scholar at the Department of Public Health, Sam Houston State University, USA. He has published 40 papers in various internationally reputed journals. He serves as an associate editor for the journals "Earth Systems and Environment" and "Environmental Geochemistry and Health," as well as an academic editor for PLOS One and PLOS Water. He is a member of several academic societies and serves as an editorial board member for several reputed international journals, including BMC Public Health and Discover Applied Sciences. In his academic and scientific career, he has reviewed more than 180 manuscripts for leading journals, including Chemosphere. Recently, he received ‘the most valuable paper award 2024’ from Jichi Medical University, Japan, for one of his first-author papers. Dr. Rahaman is interested in the fields of environmental health, toxicology, environmental pollution, and human health. He is also interested in higher education-related research and effective teaching methods. I am available for consultancy and also actively recruiting Master’s and PhD Students.
