Thesis Title: Exploring Student’s Knowledge and School’s Support regarding Menstrual Health Education at Noakhali Government Girls' High School

Overview: A qualitative study at Noakhali Government Girls’ High School explored how adolescent girls manage menstrual hygiene and its impact on education. Through focus groups and interviews with 12 students, teachers, and staff, the study found that girls were aware of menstruation before onset—mainly informed by mothers or grandmothers—and mostly used sanitary products provided by guardians. Challenges included physical discomfort, emotional changes, poor sanitation facilities, and limited teacher communication. Despite attending school during menstruation, girls’ participation was affected by pain and anxiety. They relied on friends for emotional support and adopted coping strategies like wearing extra clothing to prevent leakage.
